With its non-clinical facilities as well as its research and teaching area corresponding to the organisational units of the University Hospital, it is one of the largest medical training and research institutions in Baden-Württemberg.

The  Institute of Vegetative und Clinical Physiology led by Professor Jan Tchorz, offers an exciting and diverse research environment with high-impact publications (including Nature Genetics, Cell Stem Cell, Nature Cell Biology) as well as international collaborations with academia and industry. Our interdisciplinary team uses cutting-edge technologies to study cellular identity, metabolic function, regeneration, and tumorigenesis in major liver and other organ diseases, and to develop new therapeutic approaches. As a central part of preclinical teaching at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Tübingen, we also offer the opportunity to contribute to physiology teaching and support student development.
