The University Hospital of Tübingen is a leading center of German university medicine. Every year, around 75,000 inpatients and around 380,000 outpatients are treated. With over 11,000 employees, it is the largest employer in the region. The quality of patient care is certified with the KTQ seal of approval.

The newly established research group led by Dr. Stephan Spahn investigates how the intratumoral microbiome—cancer's "second genome"—interacts with precision medicine approaches in cholangiocarcinoma (CCA). Based at the newly-established M3 Research Center at the University of Tübingen, we study the complex relationships between intratumoral bacteria, bacteria-derived metabolites, and cancer hallmarks. Our mission is to translate fundamental discoveries into clinical applications that overcome therapy resistance in aggressive cancers like CCA.

This position offers the opportunity to contribute to innovative research at the intersection of microbiology, oncology, and precision medicine in an internationally recognized research environment.
