  • Lead and execute a research project investigating the effects of pembrolizumab on mitochondrial metabolic reprogramming in macrophages in the context of penile squamous cell carcinoma
  • Establish and optimize advanced in vitro models using patient-derived penile cancer cells and human monocytes/macrophages, including monocyte isolation, differentiation, co-culture and conditioned media approaches
  • Perform comprehensive functional analyses of macrophages and in‑depth mitochondrial assessments
  • Contribute to high‑resolution proteomic and phosphoproteomic studies and actively participate in data processing, bioinformatic analysis and biological interpretation
  • Promote the dissemination of research findings by producing high-quality peer-reviewed manuscripts, including the presentation of results at national and international conferences
  • Play an active role in the strategic development of the research program by contributing to the acquisition of third‑party funding

  • Extensive experience in mammalian cell culture, ideally including immune cells (monocytes / macrophages) and tumor cell lines; handson work with primary human cells is a strong advantage
  • Proven expertise in immunological and molecular techniques (e.g. flow cytometry, ELISA, qRTPCR, Western blotting); experience with advanced methods such as cell sorting, highparameter flow cytometry or RNAseq is desirable
  • Strong scientific track record, documented by first and / or lastauthor publications in peerreviewed international journals, and demonstrable experience in drafting manuscripts and revising them in response to peer review
  • Documented experience in acquiring thirdparty funding or a clear commitment and aptitude to develop competitive grant applications
