  • Design and synthesize small molecules and ligands to modulate non-canonical GPCR signaling

  • Contribute to the medicinal chemistry component of an interdisciplinary biomedical research program

  • Collaborate closely with biologists, pharmacologists, and other researchers within the RTG

  • Investigate structure–activity relationships (SAR) to optimize chemical probes

  • Apply chemical and pharmacological methods to explore complex cellular signaling pathways

  • Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Medicinal Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Chemical Biology, Biochemistry, Pharmacy, or a related field

  • Solid experience in synthetic organic chemistry and/or structure–activity relationship (SAR) studies

  • Familiarity with ligand synthesis and/or pharmacological assays is an advantage

  • Strong interest in applying chemical tools to investigate cellular signaling pathways

  • Proficiency in modern analytical, spectroscopic, and purification techniques

  • High motivation to work in an interdisciplinary team and engage in collaborative research

  • Good communication skills in English (written and spoken)

The DFG-funded Research Training Group RTG2816 focuses on unraveling non-canonical G protein signaling pathways and their potential as targets for innovative therapeutic strategies.
